Our editorial policy
How Smart Finds USA researches and writes buying guides.
Our purpose
We help readers compare practical tradeoffs instead of chasing hype. Our articles are designed to explain what to check, what questions to ask and where product claims may need verification.
How we prepare buying guides
We start with the actual task: brewing coffee in a small kitchen, working at a desk, packing for a weekend or choosing a meaningful gift. Then we identify relevant decision factors such as dimensions, materials, compatibility, maintenance, portability, recurring costs and return policies.
We aim to make our assumptions visible. A guide for a commuter may lead to different priorities than a guide for a person working from home. We do not invent test results, product ownership, customer experiences or current sale prices.
What to check independently
Retailers and manufacturers can change specifications, warranty terms, airline compatibility, safety guidance and prices. For critical decisions, compare the manufacturer's documentation and applicable current rules. Product safety and health-related claims deserve especially careful scrutiny.
How we handle affiliate relationships
At launch, our published articles contain no Amazon affiliate product links. If we later add compensated links, they will carry a clear disclosure near the link, and our dedicated affiliate disclosure will explain the relationship. We will not claim to be an Amazon Associate before that status is established.
Corrections and updates
If we identify a factual error, we aim to update the article and clarify material changes. Please use the contact page to flag a problem. We review topics for relevance, but publication or update dates are not promises that every product detail remains current.
Independence
We do not guarantee favorable coverage in exchange for compensation. We may earn revenue through future advertising or affiliate arrangements, but the underlying buying criteria are written for reader usefulness.
